Day Seven
Well Friday was a fun one. Me and my closest UW med school friends that I met the other day went on a mountain bike ride where I got to test out my new bike. We rode some steep terrain and 3/5's of our group made it to the top where we could see the entire valley and an ominous storm approaching. A short June hail storm, a bear sighting, and a rapid decline through stormy weather later, we arrived back at the cabin caked in mud and sat by a fire to warm things up. Tonight looks like burgers and BBQ chicken and planning tomorrow's trek to Wyoming where I will leave civilization for a few days. The blog will be quiet for a bit but I will continue to take photos and log my adventure. I'll catch you all up when I reach internet access again. Thanks for all the comments and friendly notes, they are much appreciated.

this is your pop. thanks for pics. Awesome ride. WOW, what an adventure! Not much new here, pretty boring compared to what you're doing. How are your MD friends? The only thing worse than a barber with palsy is a doctor. Thanks for the warning about your buddies. If they can't hit a shoot a target, they better not operate on me. Anyway, I'll pray for safe weather and no bears in Yellowstone.

HI Kelly, We got your note today...thanks! Jack and John had a great trip around the lake on the Hobie, so you'll have to try again when we have wind! I'm sure this time out of contact is pretty fantastic in a very different way from what you've experienced so far. We're glad you're getting a chance to do this! You are turning into me, calling people your closest friends after just a few days! Glad you are having fun, and I will be thinking about you as you embark on the solo part of your journey. Well, I suppose you are already in the middle of it, but I am thinking about you anyway.

Man I am so jealous of you Kelly. Thanks for inviting me by the way. No but seriously, soak up this time that you have. You probably won't get a chance like this again. And if you do you better invite me. So I am comin out to Michigan and there are some possible different dates. Call me when you get back to civilization and we will talk about it. Take care buddy
